Bee Season Floristry began life as Flowers by Phoebe. Phoebe grew up on Village Acres Farm, a small organic family farm in mid central Pennsylvania.  Her grandmother and mother were both avid gardeners and naturalists, and her knowledge of flowers began early on as she helped weed the perennial flower beds on the farm. When her brother suggested raising cut flowers as a crop to sell at farmer's markets, she immediately jumped at the chance to help. She soon became the lead bouquet maker, delighting weekly customers with colorful, texture filled bouquets.

She went on to study Theater and History at Goshen College, with a focus in directing, dramaturgy, and design. She worked on as many productions as she could, learning quickly the importance of creating large scale environments that actors could interact with and inhabit. During the summers, she would return to the farm to grow flowers and soon began designing floral arrangements for weddings and events for her friends and family.

After college, Phoebe continued directing and designing with independent Theaters in Northern Indiana including New World Arts and GoShakes while pursuing a career in restaurant management. But people continued to experience her floral work and the word spread as as did her perennial garden and soon the pull towards growing and designing flowers overwhelmed her many other interests.

In 2015, Phoebe returned to her farming roots, made arrangements with several Goshen farmers and started Flowers By Phoebe. With several successful CSA season under her belt, she is happier than ever, spending her days creating succession planting charts, meeting with soon to be wed couples, and designing with the kinds of flowers her grandmother and mother taught her to grow as a child.

Phoebe is still creating and designing arrangements for Bee Season Floristry. She continues to teach others about flower growing and arranging through public workshops and internships at Bee Season.
